As you probably know, there is 20% off at Hush until midnight (Thursday 30th June) with code SMILE, so my hunch was that the Hush sale would start on Friday, however I have now heard that it will be Tuesday 5th July. Looking through the site, many of the items are already sold out or in a low stock position. I’ve been through what I think are the best buys, assessed the stock levels and I’m having a little wager on what’s good to buy with the 20% off and which are worth risking for a bigger sale reduction.
Hush sale pieces to buy at 20% off
This simple, well cut top looks great with jeans and a blazer making it a great solution for cooler summer days when layering is needed. It is available in blush, antique white, black and navy.
- Buy at 20% – black and antique white
- Wait for the sale – blush and navy
This loose Grecian top is available in multicoloured chevrons as shown and also a black and white version of the same print. Solid colours include black and pistachio green. Stock is already low and it is a good price with 20% off so buy it now. The cut is very flattering because the straps are fitted at the narrowest point of the shoulders which emphasises the clavicles. If you’re going on holiday somewhere warm, this would be great to throw on with shorts. The black version would also be easy to dress up for the evening. The fabric is the same rayon as the Grecian dress that I have and it feels lovely.
You know I love this metallic v tee, I have worn it lots this summer because the subtle sheen seems to lift whatever I pair it with. It isn’t as good quality as The White Company ones but they are long gone so just launder it with care (i.e.on a delicate wash). It is already sold out in quite a few sizes so if you want to pick up on the metallic micro trend, buy quickly and if in doubt, size up on this one.
What to buy when the Hush sale begins
These are my other best buys from the Hush Summer collection. I’ve assessed stock levels and I think it is worth taking a gamble and hoping there will be a bigger reduction than 20% on these in the Hush sale. Mind you my judgement is feeling a bit wobbly. I dithered over buying our holiday currency last week. In the end I decided that there was no way the UK would vote for Brexit and that sterling would soar this week as a result. That didn’t get me very far.
I have this Grecian dress so it’s a personal recommendation. Wear it on the beach or dress it up for a warm summer evening. I will be adding the accompanying white belt. As I’ve already mentioned, the rayon fabric is really lovely against the skin. Stock levels are not low so I think it’s safe to wait on this one. It’s also available in two different chevron prints.
The changeable weather means that I have had endless wear out of this jumpsuit this summer. I wear it with different coloured blazers and ponchos and sometimes with a t-shirt underneath. It’s especially good for travelling in because it doesn’t crease, it’s also available in khaki.
I really like this Cleo dress; bearing in mind that the model is tall it’s a great length. This, and the fact that it isn’t skin tight, mean that the “off the shoulder” neckline looks chic. It is one of those rare dresses that would work regardless of whether you have a small or a large bust. Obviously, unless the sun comes out, I’m thinking of holiday destinations that are sometimes cooler in the evenings – France perhaps or the Balearics.
Here’s another simple dress that would be great for weekends or holidays. The split up the side is balanced out by the loose cut. One of the things that I love about Hush is that they often add a single sexy detail to a piece like this.
When I first saw this long cardigan in March I couldn’t see the point of it but now I can. It adds a chic layer for cooler days when you want something a little less basic than a t-shirt and jeans.
I saw this embroidered top when I paid a quick visit to the Hush pop up shop in Notting Hill before a meeting. You will either love it or hate it. I love it. It’s one of those tops that you would keep for years. The fabric is quite heavy which gives it structure and it would look great worn with jeans and a cardigan or blazer at home or with shorts or a maxi on holiday. I’m really hoping for a good reduction on this because it feels like an investment piece.
Another thing that Hush does well is colour. They seem to use a palette that really flatters most skin tones. As you know I have the winter version of this wrap blouse. I think this summer cut is even more appealing without the sleeves which add volume. It you prefer it in black, buy it now with 20% off as stock is low. Don’t forget to size down at least one size.
This lightweight jumper is another useful piece for rubbish weather. Because it’s linen it still nods to summer whereas I always think merino looks and feels wintery. It is also available in champagne.
So, this Hush sale post was a quick one from me today to help you to prepare for the last of the interesting sales. Other than Marks and Spencer, I think most stores are now heading into further reductions. Thank you to everyone who sent ideas for things they’d like me to cover over the next few weeks – who would have thought that shape wear would be such a big one? I’m busy working out how I can do that properly for you.
Have great few days, I’ll be back on Friday – please keep the ideas coming.
